Not afraid to talk about it.
A bi-weekly head-on conversation about current affairs and gender-based issues affecting trans and non-binary youth, students and adults within our Maritime community and across Canada.
We take on difficult topics; breaking us out of the binary, smashing stigma and fostering greater connection between our cisgender community and trans, gender creative and non-binary community.
Cynthia and Isaac came together over a cup of coffee at Halifax Public Library.
One a Gen Xer; the other a Millennial.
You can guess who is who.
Both with the intention of shaking up the binary narrative that's walling up their worlds.
For Cynthia (she/her), writer, author and cisgender advocate for trans and non-binary children and youth, it's about levelling the playing field and creating safe spaces where everyone has an equitable opportunity to shine.
Raising and loving her 3 kids, one of which just happens to have brown eyes... oh, and is also trans, Cynthia wonders why one of her kids has been erased all through their early childhood?
For Isaac, being a trans non-binary social scientist navigating a world designed for cis-straight folks is no walk in the park. From challenging gender stereotypes by day to trying to get a solid 8-hour sleep at night, he understands the various challenges that come along with being transgender.
Focused on creating safe spaces for tough discussions, this dynamic duo is ready to help break down the barriers and talk about important topics that impact the LGBTQ+ community.
